Couples seminar to revive marriages

"I believe that people are cheating because they don't respect each other and they do not communicate,"

MSHADZA – Renowned local gospel artist and pastor, Anderson Matsane, shared the secret to a healthy marriage during a couples seminar hosted by the Latter Glory Church.

Matsane indicated that the objective was to revive marriages opposed to divorce in the Christian community was becoming problematic.

“I decided to host these seminars because there are a lot of people who are married, but are not happy because of the problems they are going through on a daily basis.

“It’s not our first time hosting this seminar and so far it is yielding positive results.

“There were couples who were on the verge of divorce, but due to the teachings from the gatherings, they managed to save their marriages,” he explained.
Matsane shared some causes of divorce, which included a lack of communication which could lead to infidelity. “Communication plays a vital role in building marriages.

“When a couple has problems, they should be able to talk and find solutions. As pastors, we need to pay attention to the things that are destroying our communities. We must not be ignorant, we need to face reality and talk about the problems that are faced by our communities on a daily basis such as domestic abuse and fighting HIV/Aids. We need guidance and God’s intervention,” he said.

Lerato Madonsela had the following to say about the seminar, “I believe that people are cheating because they don’t respect each other and they do not communicate. Your partner must be your best friend so that you can feel comfortable to talk about anything that hurts you.”

According to Portia Hlabane, cheating is a serious problem that is destroying marriages. “I think people cheat because they want to experiment, especially men. These seminars are helping us a lot because we get a platform to talk about a lot of issues involving marriage.”
