BARBERTON – Community members at extension 9 are living in fear after they discovered three crocodiles roaming around this section.
Mpumalanga News learnt that the residents did not hesitate to kill the crocodiles. Some of the residents, especially parents, indicated that their children are no longer safe.
“When I heard about it, I thought it was just a joke, but after some few minutes the pictures trended on social media then I tuned into our local radio station, listening news they also spoke about it.
“We are still confused as we don’t know where they come from because we are not even close to a river or a shallow stream, but were suspect that there is a crocodile that might have given birth around this section.
Our children are not safe, maybe the crocodiles are hurting for its prey and it’s raining these days. I suspect that there are other crocodiles that are hiding somewhere,” said one of the concerned parents, Ms Thandeka Shabalala.
