Divine intervention needed for our matric learners

Dear Lord grant your blessings to the class of 2016, give them your wisdom to remember everything they have learnt…,”

WHITE RIVER – Pastors and religious leaders from different denominations all over the province united in prayer for over 60 000 matric learners who will write their matric exams from next week until November 29.

“Dear Lord grant your blessings to the class of 2016, give them your wisdom to remember everything they have learnt…,” went some of the prayers during the MEC’s prayer meeting held at Ingwenyama Lodge on Thursday.

“We are here to pray for divine intervention, without God, things won’t be fine. We are confident that indeed through Him we will definitely achieve the targeted 89 percent pass rate,” says Rev Mika Nthali, chairperson of the Moral Regeneration Movement.

Nthali added that they had seen the power of prayer working for the province in the past and believe that even this year prayer will work wonders in this examination time and beyond.

Mpumalanga has 60 000 full-time including 13 000 progressed learners plus over 7 000 part-time learners who will sit for their final examination to start on Monday (October 24) to November 29.

MEC Reginah Mhaule added that the province was ready for the exams.

“We are ready both in preparation of the learners to sit down for the exams and ready administratively, we don’t expect any irregularities to take place. We are working together with the SAPS to escort examination papers and our learners are ready, we have covered the syllabus,” she said.
