MSHOLOZI – A dark cloud hangs over this informal settlement as the man who fought tooth and nail for the establishment and formalisation Msholozi, Mr Screamer Maxi Bhila, is no more.

Screamer died on Saturday evening after losing control of his car on the R40 road near the Lowveld Showgrounds.
His two occupants managed to escape unharmed. A reliable source said he suffered from a heart failure while he was behind the wheel, which caused his car to lose control before it overturned.

Cllr Kenneth Mkhonto confirmed that Screamer’s memorial service will be held today @ Valencia Hall from 14:00. He will be laid to rest on Saturday.

Screamer founded the area eight years ago though it still lacks basic service delivery including water, electricity, proper roads, complex to name a few.

In one of his interviews with this publication he said that he had been working tirelessly approaching different government departments to ensure that they deliver services to the area as per the promises made to community in 2008 by the premier DD Mabuza during his visit to Msholozi.

Capt Dawie Pretorius spokesperson of Nelspruit police said the driver of the Fortune was instantly killed. “A case of culpable homicide was opened,”.
