Health department lambast DA

The Department would like to advise the Democratic Alliance to stop making the MEC its project of trying to campaign for votes

MBOMBELA – The Mpumalanga department of Health has labeled Democratic Alliance’s call for MEC Gileon Mashego’s resignation as a ‘stunt and a plot’ against him, further alleging that the party was playing ‘unfounded and non-substantiated’ political games.

The department was responding to DA’s march to the legislature which took place yesterday morning where they demanded that Mashego resigned due to poor performance. Spokesperson for the department Mr Dumisani Malamule said that the DA was trying hard to fool people of the province to believe that the health system was in shambles.

“Whilst the political party sits in its offices, drafting unfounded media statements and brainstorming how they plan to fool Mpumalanga citizens about the alleged non-performance of the Health Department, the leadership and support staff of MEC Mashego, will be on the ground delivering the much needed health services.”

“The Department would like to advise the Democratic Alliance to stop making the MEC its project of trying to campaign for votes. The Department is aware that this is one political party that is using the Department of Health to try and shadow the good work that the provincial government is doing. The DA will not succeed in its plot to shun the good work that has been done by MEC Mashego. The political party must join the masses in celebrating the positive service delivery done by the Health Department in the province,” said Malamule.
