Thabo’s book is launched
The University of Mpumalanga will host the Thabo Mbeki Foundation to launch former President Thabo Mbeki's new book today.
MBOMBELA – The book, titled The Thabo Mbeki I know, is the brainchild of former ambassador to the United Kingdom, Lindiwe Mabuza.
The author felt much was written about the former president, yet by people who had not worked in close proximity to him.
Mabuza describes the book as a memoir of events that took place in his life from a young man in South Africa and going into exile, as well as a leader.
The official launch was in Johannesburg and Mpumalanga is one of the provinces the foundation will engage with, accompanied by one of the contributors, Prof Wally Serote and chief executive of the foundation, Max Boqwana.
Other contributors include president Obasanjo, Geraldine Fraser Moleketi, Jonas Gwanga, Miranda Strydom and many others who have worked closely with him.
The launch takes place at 16.00.
