Beauty has eyes on the crown

"It has been a life-changing experience living in the spotlight, although it took some adjusting being away from home,"

MBOMBELA – Miss Tourism Universe South Africa 2016, Amahle Ngaleka jetted off to Lebanon last week Tuesday for the international finals on September 17.

The KwaZulu-Natal born lass describes her journey so far as nothing short of amazing.
“It has been a life-changing experience living in the spotlight, although it took some adjusting being away from home,” she said.

Her win came as a surprise, but it was her grandmother, her pillar of strength, who was the most overwhelmed. “I’ve lived with her all my life and each time I speak to her, I get emotional because she worries if I will be fine,” said Ngaleka.

Nonetheless, she said she looked forward to her trip and returning with the crown. “The ultimate goal is to bring the title home, but in the process, it also entails having fun; making new friends and learning from each of the people I will be competing with,” she reasoned.

She encouraged young women to persevere in all their endeavours. “The road to success is not easy because it takes resilience and patience to get to the top. Every speed hump is there for a reason,” she said.

Ms Gugu Nyarenda the CEO of Mzimari Productions, organiser of the pageant said, “We wish our queen all the best and I hope she will represent us very well. This is a wonderful opportunity for her as she will be sharing ideas with other beautiful and intelligent young girls like herself.

We hope she will bring something home. Even if she doesn’t clinch the ultimate crown, but God willing, she will be a shining star and she will continue being our queen. We love her.
