KAMHLUSHWA – The Mpumalanga Fashion Extravaganza designers talent search project at eLangeni Lodge was a huge success.
The support was amazing and 10 designers from the Nkomazi Local Municipality took part in the competition of whom three were selected to take part in the Mpumalnga Fashion Extravaganza on November 26 at Union Motors in
Mbombela.
Each designer walked away with R3 000 in cash to assist them to participate in the grand final.
Nkomazi FM’s Vusi Trevor Mkhabela, popularly known as VT, did a fantastic job as MC. Local poets entertained the crowd and performances from the local artists were top-notch.
“This is proof enough that Mpumalanga does have talent after all. Designers were humbly grateful and felt honoured to get recognition and a platform to showcase their talent.The next designer talent search will take place in Bushbuckridge on August 27,” says organiser, Nonhlanhla Gwebu.
The top three designers from Nkomazi are Jeff Ndlovu from Jeff Designs, Nontobeko Zitha from Nontos Designs and Thobile Ndzimandze.
There was also a display by local crafters and an an exhibition of art work by the Philani Labadzala Civic Centre
