BARBERTON – Voting proceedings were marred by a scuffle between members of the EFF and ANC when the latter were allegedly attacked by the EFF members at Mgababa Section.

” F**k you all ANC members, you disgust me sluts. You are not going to win this time around, we’ve heard enough of your corruption (sic)”. Police were called to intervene.
They requested the man to stop insulting the ANC members.

A police source revealed that they have been battling to maintain peace between the members of the two parties.

“The problem started on Tuesday night when some EFF and ANC members had a misunderstanding and started pointing at one another aggressively. It was not clear what started the fight, but we managed to calm the situation. Since I have been deployed here, I have noticed that people in this section are intolerant of one another and anything can happen at anytime. Those who were misbehaving were playing with a fire,” he said.

Some members of the EFF denied that the man was a member of their party, but at a later stage, the very same man was parading around with these members.

Barberton police spokesperson, Const Tutu Nkosi said, “We received a report from our security personnel that there had been a scuffle between the EFF and the ANC, but they were reprimanded by our members on the spot. No case has been opened nor reported to us.”

Mpumalanga News visited various voting stations in the area and at Extension 11 the standard of security was extremely high. This section is well known for making headlines since last year due to the notorious Panga Gang.
