Mayor candidate promises two cows if ANC wins

He also urged the nominated councillors to work and listen to the people deliver.

MATSULU- Mbombela executive mayor, Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi promised the people for Matsulu a big celebration with two cows to be slaughtered if the ANC wins by 90 percent in the area.

The community came out in numbers to watch and take part in the Siyanqoba sub-zone sports tournament at the weekend.

The games consisted of three sporting codes, netball, soccer and tennis. The tournament was graced by the presence of the Mbombela Executive Mayor Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi. He encouraged people to vote for the ANC. He also urged the nominated councilors to work and listen to the people deliver. He further said, “You are not voted for fun, but to serve the people of this country.”

The results for the tournament are as follows. Ward 27B came third and received, Second place was Ward 27A who received silver medals. Ward 13 were the overall winners, they took the trophy with gold medals, netball kit and socks.
In women’s soccer there were only two teams, with Days Mighty Gogos taking silver medals for position two. The winners were Litsemba FC who walked away with the trophy, gold medals and soccer kit. In tennis, they had few participants who all received gold medals. Men’s football Chelsea came third and received R500 in cash, Mbombela Real Stars were the runners-up, walking away with R2 000 in cash with silver medals. The Champions Matsulu City Royals walked away with the trophy, soccer kit, gold medals and R1 000 in cash.
