Sasol Energy cares about the future of children

In addition to supporting the Tsadzanani Crèche, Sasol Energy together with its franchisees across South Africa continued with the Sasol Friendly Neighbour Programme that encourages increased engagement with the communities in which Sasol operates.

MBOMBELA- Sasol Energy ‘s staff and its  franchisee in Kingsview recently donated a  mobile library unit to the children of Tsandzanani Creche.

Other donations were also made in  at Bantfwana Betfu crèche in Kamhlushwa and on  Let’s Hope Community Crèche in Mkhuhlu.

“Our community investment initiatives seek to promote the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate. We aim to drive sustained social impact through activities focused on legacy creation and to integrate the concept of ‘giving’ into the Sasol culture,” said Dean Somerset, Sasol Manager: Marketing, Sponsorship and CSI.

“At Sasol Energy we are committed to continue supporting the Crèche. Mandela Month is an opportunity for us to do more for the community, as we honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela,” continued Somerset.

This engagement is focused on supporting early childhood development in the communities.

“Through this partnership with our franchisees we are able to play an even more active role in the development of our future leaders. Our support to early childhood development through this programme include donations of items such as mobile library units, educational toys and stationery. We believe that these donations will positively enhance the learning experiences of the children. The franchisees are commendable for their efforts in this regard,”  adds Somerset.

Tsadzanani Crèche’s owner Ms Phumzile Ngwamba  said a  lot still needed to be done, not just at the Crèche, but also in relation to the community as a whole. Tsadzanani houses a total of forty one children and they do the best they can to develop the numeracy, literacy and life skills of those children.
