BRA makes its presence known

BRA secretary, Mr Cleopas Maunye, said he was confident they would take over the municipality, which is currently under the stewardship of the ANC.

BUSHBUCKRIDGE – The Bushbuckridge Residents Association (BRA) is hell-bent on causing an upset by taking control of the local municipality.

BRA secretary, Mr Cleopas Maunye, said he was confident they would take over the municipality, which is currently under the stewardship of the ANC.

“Like I said before, we know what we are doing and we are confident that we will take Bushbuckridge Local Municipality (BLM).

“We have told all our supporters and people in the area to go out in numbers on August 3 and vote us into power and on August 4 we start working.

“We want to start implementing our plans as soon as we are voted into power,” said Maunye.

He said they have the full support of the masses within the Bushbuckridge area and is adamant that this would work in their favour. BRA officially launched their election manifesto on April 27 in Casteel in front of a packed stadium.

During the 2011 local government elections, BRA managed to obtain seven seats in BLM. Besides this municipality, Maunye said they are also hope to make their presence felt in Thaba Chweu Municipality (TCM).

“During the previous polls, we only targeted Bushbuckridge, but this time around we are going to contest TCM too. We are hopeful that we will do well there as well. We are slowly spreading our wings and we will soon be in all the provincial municipalities,” he said.

BRA’s mayoral candidate for BLM is none other than party president, Mr Delta Mokoena.
