MBOMBELA – You can tell by the atmosphere that the local government elections are around the corner. Political parties are using every opportunity they get to recruit people to vote for them.
Mpumalanga News spoke to the provincial DA leader, Mr James Masango who indicated his party is more than ready for the elections that will be held on August 3. “We are ready and I can say that we are more than confident that our party will be victorious in some of the municipalities.

“We are all over our province and people are responding positively to our campaigns. It shows that people have faith in the DA,” said Masango.
He indicated that some of the municipalities where they believe that they will make history and take over are Bushbuckridge, Steve Tshwete and Thaba Chweu.
“What we did in Midvaal and Cape Town is going to happen to the people of this province especially in those municipalities that we want to take over.
“People are still struggling to obtain good service due to the corruption that is happening in some of the municipalities. Once we take over that will be a thing of the past. We are going to address many things that are affecting our country such as uprooting corruption and lack of job opportunities,” he explained.
