Isibaya stars surprise learners
Thembi Nyandeni who plays Mkabayi and Zakhele Mapondo also known as Skhaleni, got learners and educators very excited when they were called out.
KANYAMAZANE – Sitintile Secondary School was visited by two stars from one of the country’s leading soapies, Isibaya as part of Mandela Day activities.
Learners gathered at the assembly waiting to be addressed by Mbombela Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor, Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi not knowing there was a surprise in store for them.
Thembi Nyandeni who plays Mkabayi and Zakhele Mapondo also known as Skhaleni, got learners and educators very excited when they were called out.
Nyandeni emphasized the importance of education and respect. She said: “To be respected you need to be peaceful just as Mandela was. He did not become a world icon because he was lucky, but because he wanted people to live freely in this country. Also remember that there are no shortcuts in life, one has to be educated. With education you can reach greater heights, so please listen to your teachers and respect them at all times.”
The mayor, together with the actors, will proceed to Lekazi Central High School, Thembeka Secondary School and ZB Kunene Secondary School.
