KABOKWENI – Messages for a speedy recovery are still pouring in for Crown Gospel Awards nominee, Goodman Mgibe.

He was admitted to Themba Hospital after he was knocked down by a car outside his home at Lihawu last Sunday.
He and his wife were walking to a church service when the accident occurred.
Speaking to a journalist of Mpumalanga News, Mgibe, who was still hospital with a broken leg said, “I thank God that I am alive. I hope I will recover because God is with me. The driver failed to apply brakes to his car and came straight at me. According to the police, he was using someone else’s driver’s licence.”
One of the artists, who worked closely with him, Past Anderson Matsane said, “I’m still shocked about what happened to him. He is very close to me. He’s like my brother, I wish him a speedy recovery and may God heal him.
“He still has a long way to go in terms of fulfilling God’s work or ministry through gospel music,” he said.
Mgibe said the accident cost him big time, “I was supposed to attend the rehearsals for the Ingoma Awards as I will sing there. I cancelled some of my shows as I had to perform in Polokwane and places like Bushbuckridge, Clau Clau, just to mention a few,” he concluded.
He had branded himself in the industry with his song “Ndim Lo” and was nominated for the Crown Gospel Awards 2014 with this song in the category: Best gospel album.
Before his accident, Mgibe was promoting his latest album, Xola Nhliziyo.
He has been nominated for the Ingoma Awards that will take place in Cape Town on August 27.
