Attack shocks royal family

The family who spoke to Mpumalanga News said they didn't want to speculate and point fingers at this stage, but they have their own suspicions

PIENAAR – The Mpakeni Royal Family is still reeling from shock following the torching of Chief Daantjie Nkosi’s private home by unknown suspects last Wednesday.

According to police information, Nkosi’s residential home was attacked and burned in the early morning hours and the cause is still unknown, but an inquiry has been opened.

When the incident happened, Nkosi wasn’t home and only security officials were present, but then escaped without being hurt. The house and everything in it, including a car, was damaged by the raging fire.

The family who spoke to Mpumalanga News said they didn’t want to speculate and point fingers at this stage, but they have their own suspicions.

“We view this attack as personal and the intention was to kill our leader,” said the family’s elders.

“We don’t want to rush to conclusions here and name names irresponsibly but we can assure you that things aren’t what they seem.

“There are many forces at play here, and we have our suspects and alibis but when the timing is right we believe the suspects will be unmasked.”

They also voiced out their dissatisfaction with the manner in which the wheels of justice are moving to solve pending cases involving this royal house.
