Boys urged to love themselves

The ultimate goal is to have a community that will be free from any form of sexual abuse across the human life span.

MBOMBELA-More than 1300 boys urged to take a good care of themselves during their graduation ceremony from the Love Life Mpitshis Championing Change Programme.

The programme is structured to promote prevention of gender based violence and abuse.

“The aim is to create awareness and multimedia messaging to tackle harmful practices such as gender norms.

The ultimate goal is to have a community that will be free from any form of sexual abuse across the human life span.

This will in return curb the social ills such as teenage pregnancy, early sexual debut and intergenerational relationships,” explained Ms Nomsa Mtsweni the MEC for Social Development.

She also congratulated the boys for a job well done as she handed them with certificates of participation to all the participants.

The graduates were lectured on the following topics:
* Loving themselves
* Loving those around them
* Gender, sex and sexuality
* Understanding and dealing with change
* Taking care of themselves
* Gender based and sexual violence
* Rape and abuse
* Making a move
