Kruger day visitors to take note of access management

Day visitors to the Kruger National Park (KNP) are requested to take note of the visitor access management, which will be enforced during the coming June/July holidays as from Friday, June 24 until Sunday July 17.

SKUKUZA – Day visitors to the Kruger National Park (KNP) are requested to take note of the visitor access management, which will be enforced during the coming June/July holidays as from Friday, June 24 until Sunday July 17.

The visitors can choose and book a time slot prior to their arrival from one of the following three time slots:

* 06:00 to 08:00
* 08:00 to 10:00
* 10:00 onwards

The Day Visitor Quota for the park is a management tool to maintain the carrying capacity of the park.

Visitors will be able to book up to 80 percent of day visitor quota per gate, via SANParks reservations offices and online at www.sanparks.org

Pre-booked day visitors will get preference over non-booked day visitors at the gate.

“For busy periods such as the school holidays, we aim to better manage the volumes that we expect, as well as our visitors’expectations.

The three different slots are aimed to improve the spread of vehicles and, as far as possible prevent unnecessary waiting periods at gates”, said the KNP Managing Executive, Glenn Phillips.

Phillips added that pre-booked day visitors should ensure that they arrive within the time slots, as per their reservation.

“Arriving outside the booked time slot, will be regarded as non-booked and therefore not preferential. These bookings can be changed through SANParks Reservations offices,” h said.

Phillips also reminded Visitors to read their permits which they receive at the gates because all the rules and regulations of the park are clearly stipulated in those documents.

Visitors can report any rules and regulations infringement which they witness, to the Emergency Call Centre numbers 013 735 4325/013 735 0197 or 076 801 9679.
