Six vehicles for Ingoma Forum

Six vehicles valued at R 2.3 million have been handed over to the Ingoma Forum by MEC of the health department, Mr Gillion Mashego.

MBOMBELA – Six vehicles valued at R 2.3 million have been handed over to the Ingoma Forum by MEC of the health department, Mr Gillion Mashego.

During the official handover Mashego expressed satisfaction in the manner which initiation schools are being conducted in the province.

He was accompanied by Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena, chairperson of the Mpumalanga House of Traditional Leaders and members of the Ingoma Forum

“During our visit, we came across 82 initiates who are currently attending the initiation schools in the three areas.

We brought a medical doctor that provided the initiates with medical assistance.

What we found was that some of the initiates were suffering from dehydration and other medical illnesses.

We have since provided the necessary medical assistance.
With regard to water, I will engage the Local Municipalities to ensure that they dispatch water tankers to provide water to the initiates.” said Mashego.

He added that the role of traditional leaders is central to the success of campaigns to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS in the communities working together to provide health care for all people in the province.
