Zuma to campaign in Mpumalanga

We know the stadium only takes about 40 000 people, but we are prepared to accommodate a larger crowd.

MBOMBELA – President Jacob Zuma will address throngs of ANC supporters on Sunday at the Mbombela Stadium during the party’s provincial manifesto launch.

The Economic Freedom Fighters, Democratic Alliance and the Bushbuckridge Residence Association have already toured the province where they took their election manifestos directly to the people.

The ANC provincial spokesperson, Mr Sibusiso Themba said preparations for their manifesto were at advanced stages. “We are actually there. We are just doing touch-ups here and there. But overall, we are ready for this big day,” he said.

He said they are expecting about 50 000 ANC members to be part of this campaign.

“We have invited both national and local artists to entertain our members. We know the stadium only takes about 40 000 people, but we are prepared to accommodate a larger crowd.

We will set up overflow areas around the stadium. We are expecting members even from outside the province. We would like to invite and encourage our members to come in numbers and show our support for our party,” said Themba.

He said proceedings will start as early as 09:00.
