Water crisis gets worse

BARBERTON –Shortage of water in this town is getting worse by the day.

Some sections including Ext 13 residents don’t have running water from taps since Sunday evening.

Some community members are forced to walk long distance to ask for water from other sections as they get water from tap in the evening.
Even though Umjindi Local Municipalities(ULM) tried to control the situation by supplying water with trucks, but the system is not doing justice to majority of the residents in this sections.
The residents told Mpumalanga News that usually the truck comes in this section when they are at work and children are at school.

“Since on Sunday evening we did not have water and we were not even prepared. The trucks are not helping us at all, they supply water when we are at work during the day,”said Amanda Hlatsi.
Our effort to get hold of the spokesperson of UML, Mr Samuel Jele was fruitless .
