Ntandoyenkosi Kunene departs for Austria on Friday on her first ever overseas trip as part of the prize she received after
being crowned Miss South Africa 2016 last month.

She will be travelling to Neustift in the Austrian state of Tyrol on a luxury skiing holiday and will be accompanied by her sister Zamanyabose Mthethwa.

The trip was part of the more than R 2-million rand prize package that she received when she took the title and is sponsored by tour operator Dreams.

A delighted Ntando who also celebrated her 24th birthday this week said,

“I’ve always wanted to go overseas but this trip has far exceeded my wildest dreams.

It’s hard to describe how I’m feeling – both excited and nervous at the same time!

Good news is that I have already had some private skiing lessons and cannot wait to hit the slopes.”

Chief executive of Dreams, Erica Barrett said, “As a long-time partner of the pageant we understand that this is a once in a lifetime moment for every winner and we are honoured to help make their special moment even more unique and that’s what we do at Dreams, we create memories.

Neustift is one of our most elegant ski experiences and we know that it will be one that Ntando and her sister will never forget.”

In addition Dreams has partnered with ski school Avalanche and equipment and apparel supplier Gone Skiing to provide Ntando and her sister with everything they need to enjoy one of the world’s most iconic skiing regions.

Miss South Africa has had ski lessons at Avalanche in Fourways where participants can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, bumboarding and tubing on a 65 metre ski slope.

Gone Skiing has provided gift vouchers for use at their store in Fourways.
