Mpumalanga has done it again, with Team JR on Clash of the Choirs proving once more that this province has grown immensely in terms of supporting its own. The team walked away with the R1-million cheque after competing against the other provinces.

Premier David Mabuza has congratulated the team and applauded them for taking the provincial flag even higher.
“It is not unusual these days for Mpumalanga to win national competitions,” he quipped.

“I would like to thank the province for rallying behind their own and ensuring that they realise their dreams. We have together changed the perception of this province. People used to refer to us as a Mampara Province but now we can safely say that we are indeed a winning province. Thank you Mpumalanga,” said Mabuza.

The MEC for the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ms Norah Mahlangu-Mabena was also in attendance at the finale.
She has also commended the team on their massive win.

“We are excited and encouraged by Mpumalanga adding yet another feather in its cap of notable achievements in recent times.
We extend our gratitude to the choristers for representing us well and also to all those who voted for them.
It was another example of what we can achieve when working together,” said Mahlangu-Mabena.
