Who is about to scoop the crown?

This is the first time the pageant takes place at this spacious venue that can accommodate a great many people, but it is first-come-first-serve as tickets are reportedly selling like hot cakes at Computicket.

MBOMBELA – What a favour for the top 12 Miss Mpumalanga finalists when they received blessings at two churches on Sunday.

Having arrived on Saturday for the week-long camp, the finalists’ first stop was at the Church On The Hill (COTH) in KaMagugu and they later went to Pentecostal Church in KaNyamazane where they attended services and received prayers and blessings for the big day on Saturday when they vie for the coveted crown at COTH.

This is the first time the pageant takes place at this spacious venue that can accommodate a great many people, but it is first-come-first-serve as tickets are reportedly selling like hot cakes at Computicket. The show will be one of the best that Mzimari Productions has ever produced, with a glass stage, decor and lighting that will be a first for Mbombela audiences.

One of the biggest spectacles for the event, is that the opening ceremony will feature newly-crowned Clash of the Choirs champions, Team Mpumalanga together with their choir master, JR who will render a few tracks for the audience. This poses a good opportunity to congratulate them on their feat.

Speaking to the show producer, Kgomotso Seboko was very inspiring as he said, “I’ve produced this pageant for the past five years and this year’s theme is unique in its own right but I can’t spoil the surprise and excitement for audiences. I can assure you nevertheless, it will be splendid and will far surpass the previous shows.

“This year we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the main sponsor, the Mpumalanga Gambling Board, so that celebration will also be incorporated into our theme because without their financial injection, we would be nowhere near our success.

“We’ll also be celebrating our recent feat, having produced Miss South Africa 2016, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, who we groomed here when she was crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2013. We’ll also be celebrating her fellow finalist, Felicia Muwayi who is also our product.
“One thing for certain, this pageant is in a class of its own as it has produced dynamites, hence the week-long camp assists a lot in grooming the girls. Come Saturday, they will be in their best form to outwit each other on the stage. Also, don’t be left out of the fun, come and be mesmerised,” he added.

Seboko is definitely making his mark in the fashion industry as he is the owner of KS Model Management and Motso Productions, and he is one of the few black fashion producers in South Africa. He has produced major shows, including Joburg Fashion Week and Mpumalanga Fashion Week.

At the main event entertainers for the evening are Kwaito Exponent, Thebe, Brendan Ledwaba, Sphelele and Princess Indlovukazi. At the after party, to be held at the Mbombela Stadium, Thebe will again be featured, Glen Lewis, Lulo Café, Tbo Touch, Lerato Kganyago, Sdunkero, Sweetmike and Unkle Mdu will be featured to entertain the VIP guests. Tickets are available at Computicket at R150 for ordinary tickets and R400 for VIPs.
