Surprise cold here to stay

These conditions are caused by a cold front passing through from the east, in which cold air is drawn inland by a high pressure system.

MBOMBELA – Lowvelders are currently experiencing an unsuspected drop in temperatures, ranging from 18°C to as low as 15°C. According to the South African Weather Services (SAWS), the cool weather and rainy conditions will continue until Saturday, where temperatures will gradually increase to the mid 20s and early 30s again.
According to SAWS, these conditions are caused by a cold front passing through from the east, in which cold air is drawn inland by a high pressure system.
As for today, the temperature will reach a high of 19°, with a 60 per cent chance of rain. Tomorrow is going to be another cold one, with temperatures reaching a high 20°C along with a 30 per cent chance for rain. On Friday, the cold front will start to veer off as temperatures will start to climb to 22°C with no rain expected. Saturday will be partly cloudy with a maximum temperature of 25°C.
