MBOMBELA – The Easter holidays are a time of introspection among most Christians as they remember Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for the forgiveness of their sins.
Church conferences and celebrations will be held over the province and here is a list to help readers know exactly where to worship this Good Friday.
While larger churches, such as the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) will head to Moria in Limpopo, the rest of the churches will gather in their respective places to pay homage to the day.
• Members of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) will worship in different regions across the province. Some branches will gather in KaNyamazane, Barberton, Lydenburg, Middelburg, KaBokweni and Nhlazatshe. Past Luke Dlamini says this year’s theme is reviving the inner person and restoration of human dignity.
• Members of the Alliance Church in South Africa will meet in their regions. Churches in the Hazyview districts will meet in Mkhuhlu Alliance Church, while those in the Mbombela district will gather at Ngodini Alliance Church. “The theme is the significance of the cross,” says Past Simon Mdluli.
• Congregants of Shilo Mountain Prayer Ministry will worship at the church’s centre at Thembisa in Daantjie from 09:00 on Friday. According to Past James Mathebula, this year’s theme is the resurrection from the dead.
• The Partners in Harvest Iris Africa will have their Easter conferences at the the Back Door Church from March 24 to 27.
• Members of the New Assembly Church in Zion in Mahushu will have their Easter conference at the main branch in Mahushu. “Our theme is to remind Christians in this last day to top up their soul. We also expect visitors from the council of churches to be among us,” explained Past Eddy Piet Mashele.
• Bread of Life Ministries in Msholozi will meet in their church from 09:00 to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ.
• The Emmanuel Assemblies of God will hold their gathering at Maviljan in Bushbuckridge.
