Toy library open for little ones

Located at Khula Khula Day Care in the Phumlani section, it is aimed at improving the learning and reading skills of toddlers up to four years.

MSHOLOZI – Penreach, in partnership with White River’s Child Welfare branch and Eco Link, recently launched the first-ever toy library through their Umphakatsi project to enhance the early childhood development of children.

The library is filled with a variety of children’s toys, literacy books and numerical equipment in bright eye-catching colours. Located at Khula Khula Day Care in the Phumlani section, it is aimed at improving the learning and reading skills of toddlers up to four years.

“This is designed to specifically help those children who don’t attend preschools due to poverty or any other reason, as statistics shows that about 27% of children below four years don’t go to preschools in the province,” explained Susanna Oosthuizen, Penreach’s marketing and communication director.
