Parents brave rain to continue protest

The department of education has promised to put special attention on the matter, but as it stands, the parents are still not satisfied.

MATSULU – It’s a matter of ‘asipheli ‘moya’ for the parents of Funindlela Primary School learners in the area. The parents took to the school to continue blocking entrance for the learners and teachers.

This comes after some parts of the school were brought down by a storm and have never been fixed since then.

On Friday, learning and teaching activities were put on hold when the parents closed the entrance to the school, and they have since vowed to continue doing it for as long as the Department of Education continues to turn a blind eye.

The department of education has promised to put special attention on the matter, but as it stands, the parents are still not satisfied.

“We were not aware of the situation in the school, but we are definitely going to look into the matter for it to be sorted out,” said the department’s Gerald Sambo.

Efforts to reach the department this morning have proven to be unsuccessful.
