MBOMBELA-Service delivery protests has become a daily thing for some communities as their local municipalities are failing to fulfil their mandate of delivering services to the people.
Some of the areas that are known of making headlines in the province include areas around Mbombela, Bushbuckridge and Emakhazeni local municipalities to name a few.
This publication has learnt that the Democratic Alliance has recently laid criminal charges against the municipal manager of Lekwa Local municipality, Mr Linda Shabalala for wilfully polluting the environment supposedly due to his failure to manage waste at Morgenzon.
Last year the party also wrote a letter to Shabalala raising their concerns about the increasing environmental hazard stemming from the poorly managed dumping site.
