COMPETITION: Thomas Chauke to spoil his fans

With over 30 years in the industry, Chauke says he owes it all to his fans, and the tour is his way of saying thank you.

Legendary Tsonga musician, Dr. Thomas Chauke, is currently enjoying meet and greets coupled with lots of interviews in Johannesburg. The Ximatsatsa singer is on a quest of promoting his latest offering, Ximatsatsa 34, tittled Xiganga.

With over 30 years in the industry, Chauke says he owes it all to his fans, and the tour is his way of saying thank you.

“This is only the beginning; the plan is to tour the rest of the country just to express my gratitude. It’s been an amazing journey for me, which would not have been this successful if it wasn’t for the fans that ensure that they support and buy my music,” said Chauke.

He went on to praise his fans for keeping it original all these years, acknowledging their effort of buying original music all the time.

“I am by far the only black musician who is supported this way, my fans always post pictures of themselves posing with original CDs, we have a new term together with them, #TeamOriginals,” he said in chuckles.

Although it will not form part of his tour, Dr Thomas Chauke will be in town next week, to run his errands.

“Mbombela will be part of the tour and the dates are yet to be announced, but I will be in Mbombela sometime next week to run some errands, I wouldn’t mind fan interactions should I come across any. My fans have become family now,” he added.

In the meantime, Mpumalanga News is giving away five CDs of this legendary musician, simply tell us what the name of his latest album is, and you could be one of the winners.
