Police shut down illegal liquor outlet

A-52-year old man from Block ‘A’ has been arrested for selling liquor without a licence.

TONGA – According to Tonga SAPS, they received information that there is a fully fledged liquor outlet at block ‘A’, but the owner does not possess the necessary documentation to be able to operate as a liquor dealer.

“We acted swiftly on the information and managed to arrest the suspect in question. The liquor has been confiscated and the owner has paid R1500 admission of guilty fine,” said Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi of Tonga SAPS.

The acting station commander of Tonga has appealed to the community not to just open illegal shebeens and to follow the right procedures or rather to apply for a liquor license.
