Police ready to do away with crime in schools

"We will be doing random searches in schools, those who will be found in the wrong side of the law will be arrested."

DAANTJIE – Local police are determined to do away with illegal activities that have turned out to be a normal part of life in some of the township schools.

Mpumalanga News learnt that recently police embarked on a campaign to interact with learners in schools.
The spokesperson of the local police Lt Jabu Ndubane said. “We are introducing our safer school campaign to the learners as we have realized that there’s a lot of illegal activities that are happening in school premises, such as carrying dangerous weapons and smuggling dagga just to name a few “.

Ndubane went on to appeal to parents to work with the police in ensuring that the campaign yields positive results at the end of the day.
“We are appealing to parents to work with us because we can’t win this battle alone, they must also play their role .We will be doing random searches in schools, those who will be found in the wrong side of the law will be arrested.”
