Prospective students involved in fatal crash
A trip to Venda went awry for prospective students of Nkomazi after they were involved in a terrible accident on their way back home.
MBOMBELA – The taxi was carrying learners who had gone to the University of Venda in Limpopo to try their luck regarding late registration.
Nkomazi Local Municipality spokesperson, Mr Cyril Ripinga, confirmed the news, saying he received a call from the Malalane Taxi Association to inform him about the incident.
“The details are very sketchy for now, but we can confirm that five people have died, four of KaMhlushwa and one of Mzinti. The mayor will visit the bereaved families soon and we send our heartfelt condolences to them,” said Ripinga.
The municipality is also set to talk to the survivors to get the gist of what happened.
