Ambitious student needs assistance with fees

The 20-year-old Nomcebo Metiso sacrificed all her time last year and worked hard towards passing her grade 12 exams and she just did that, and bagged a distinction in History as well.

MATSULU – Obtaining a university degree has always been her biggest dream, but now a registration fee seems to be standing in her way to achieving her goal.

The 20 -year-old Nomcebo Metiso sacrificed all her time last year and worked hard towards passing her grade 12 exams and she just did that, and bagged a distinction in History as well.

Her worst problem that seems to be threatening her chance to study towards a Bachelor’s degree in education is securing a registration fee of just a little over R 9 000.

“By God’s grace I have received an acceptance letter from the University of Witwatersrand and I have also received a bursary that unfortunately doesn’t cover the registration fee,” she said.

The ambitious young lady also said that losing both her parents was a huge blow, because now she has no one to pay for her fees.

“My goal is to study hard and get my Degree and come give back to the community, since there’s a lot of kids out there who are not taken care off,”she added.

Metiso has requested good Samaritans, government and other stakeholders to assist her with donations for the registration fee.

Anyone willing to assist can contact her on 073 608 718 or 072943660
