KANYAMAZANE – Mec for community safety, security and liaison Mr Vusi Shongwe and the executive mayor of Mbombela Local Municipality Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi have arrived in this township to address protesters who barricaded roads with burning tyres early
this morning.
Mpumalanga News learnt that its allegedly that the whole saga started after Mathonso failed to attend a meeting yesterday evening which is a meeting that was requested by the Kanyamazane Community Forum to address the problem of a road construction tender.
It’s reported that the residents are not happy that the tender was awarded to someone who is not from this province and they are not happy with the procedures that have been followed in employing people as it is also alleged that the majority of the people are coming from surrounding areas.
