MBOMBELA – Did you know that current Miss Mpumalanga, Zamanene Nene was the last to be auditioned during last year’s event for the coveted crown that she eventually clinched?
“I was the very last after I had missed the first one near to home in Ermelo and the second one in eMalahleni, but I eventually made it to the last one held in Mbombela.
After having travelled so far from my home in Standerton, I eventually found the place at the Nelspruit Hotel and Conference Centre.
It was the hope and determination I held deep in my heart that this year it’s a must that I must enter or else I would have missed the boat.
“Lady Luck strikes once and for me it was my year. I was never intimidated by the other entrants as I never got to see many of them since I had been at the end of the queue – it was me and my determination who auditioned,” said Nene.
Auditions for the 2016 Miss Mpumalanga will be held on December 9 at the Gert Sibande District Municipal offices in Ermelo, December 10 at the Highveld Protea Hotel in eMalahleni and the last auditions will be held at the Emnotweni Sun Hotel in Mbombela.
All auditions will be held from 10:00 to 17:00 at each venue.
“I’d like to appeal to all contestants to be themselves before the judges.
“They should trust themselves with their beauty and knowledge and, of course, one should carry oneself as a queen because on the day, it is anybody’s chance to be the judges’ favourite and eventually walk away with the crown,” she advised.
