Robbery suspects could be linked with more cases

Four suspects are due to appear before the Nkomazi magistrate court for a case of possession of stolen property. The suspects were arrested on Monday, after police acted swiftly on information that there the property was stored in a house around Tonga.

TONGA – According to the police, they recovered a 9 mm firearm pistol, 10 live rounds, five gold wedding rings, four cell phones, one coffee maker, one Lenovo laptop, LG flat screen TV, PC Screen monitor, Digital control amplifier, five pairs of ladies sandals, one Pentax binocular, 100 casino chips, and one Lenovo laptop charger from the scene.

“Owners of the stolen properties have come to the station to identify their properties and it was discovered that the properties were stolen from Malelane and Hectorspruit during respective house robberies.

It was also discovered that the two vehicles recovered by the police earlier on at Steenbok bushes were also stolen during the two house robberies,” said Lt. Mzwandile Nyambi, Spokesperson for Tonga
SAPS.

Police are requesting community members who have fallen victims of house robbery to come to the station to help identify the suspects and find out whether they are linked to more house robberies in Nkomazi.

“The station commander of Tonga, Brigadier Velisiwe Mdaka, would like to thank the members of the community who are working hand in glove with the police in ensuring suspects get arrested. Together we can fight crime,” concluded Nyambi.
