Province to launch campaign against abuse
Early this year, Shongwe raised a serious concern regarding the increasing incidents of brutal killings against women in the province.
MBOMBEALA – Community members are expected to come in numbers at Nkomeni Sports Ground on Saturday to witness the
official launch of the 16 Days of Activism for no abuse against women and children.
Mpumalanga News online has since established that the MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Mr Vusi Shongwe will be part of this program.
He is expected to outline new programs of the department and also elaborate about challenges that are still faced by the department when it comes to issues of women and children abuse.
Early this year, Shongwe raised a serious concern regarding the increasing incidents of brutal killings against women in the province.
Some of the incidents that have left scars include the rape and murder of a young women by a group of unknown suspects.
