Make a fashion statement

The aim is to create and promote local fashion designers and local artists both in fashion, modelling and crafts to assist them with building up and marketing their brand.

Fashion models will strut their stuff when they take to the red carpet during the first annual Mpumalanga Fashion Extravaganza.
Billed for November 27 and 28, this two-day event which is already on every fashionista’s lips, will be hosted at the award-winning Casambo Lodge and at the Union Motors outlet in Riverside.

According to organisers, this event will be staged over two legs. The first day, Friday November 27, will see local artists and crafters showcasing their work in a form of outdoor exhibitions at Casambo Lodge, just outside town towards the Kruger International Airport.
“This day has been planned specially for our local artists and crafters who use their hands to create magic, which is often not recognised.

So, this is a platform for them to exhibit their work,” said Blessed Sobi, one of the local designers.

He said they are working with other artists and fashion designers from Swaziland and Mozambique and therefore expected support from fashion lovers from the two countries as well.
Festivities will wind up with a fashion parade on Saturday, November 28 at Union Motors.
“This fashion show will see local designers and models showcasing their talent on the ramp while at the same time giving the general public and fashion diehards a taste of what’s on offer this summer.
The aim is to create and promote local fashion designers and local artists both in fashion, modelling and crafts to assist them with building up and marketing their brand.
“We are trying to introduce what we call, ‘fashion meets art’,” said Sobi.
