Woman nabbed for drug possession
Taxi passengers were left in shock after a woman in her thirties was ordered to get off the taxi by police officers and arrested her on the spot for drug possession in KaNyamazane on Sunday.
KANYAMAZANE- A 34-year-old woman has been arrested in possession of dagga weighing 25 kg with an estimated street value of R100 000, on October 10.
A reliable source informed Kanyamazane police officers about the woman who have been exporting drugs for some time now. According to WO Andries Skwambane, the suspect was travelling in a taxi from Kanyamazane to Mbombela and carrying a suspected huge suit case full of dagga. “Police officers followed the taxi until they stop it at Tekwane South where the suitcase was searched and the dagga found,” he said.
The suspect briefly appeared in Kanyamazane Magistrate Court where she was remanded in custody until her bail application October 20 at KaBhokweni Magistrate Court. “This send a clear message to criminals that police will never hesitate to put criminals behind bars”, said Skwambane.
