Suspect robs Pakistani national

Yesterday at Hoyi Trust around 13:30, a 31-year-old African male was arrested for robbing a 48-year-old Pakistani national.

TONGA -The victim alleged that he was inside his shop with his assistant when they were approached by two African male suspects.

The suspect threatened him with a panga and demanded money, the victim said he did not have the money. They started searching him and took an undisclosed amount of cash that was in his pocket then fled the scene on foot.

A community member chased them and caught one of the suspects, they assaulted him. Police were informed and they rushed to the scene and arrested the suspect. He is now in hospital under police guard.Meanwhile, the other suspect is still at large.The suspect will appear at the Nkomazi Magistrate Court soon.

The Acting station commander is appealing to the community to assist with information of the were about of the other suspect anyone with information can contact contact Lieutenant Colonel Nancy Mnisi on 072 60380 438. We also urge community members not to keep a lot of money in their pockets as you will find yourself in trouble of getting robbed, so it is best to take precautionary measures to stay protected.
