The singer, who is well known in the gospel industry as “Mkhashwa”, has released a new album, Wala uNkulunkulu.

“I’ve been waiting for nearly seven years to release my album because I have been waiting for God to tell me the message He wants to send the people as I believe that God is using my voice to reach out and save people’s lives,” said Mkhashwa.

Mpumalanga News learnt that even though he recently released his new album, citizens of this province were still crazy about his second CD, Ngiphandla which uplifted people spiritually.

“My second album was rocking the airwaves as it enjoyed airplay at different radio stations around the province. I really appreciate the support that the people have given me since I started this journey. If they were not there for me, I would not have been where I am today. I can say that even the new album is also a hit if you listen to it, you will feel God touching you,” he added.

Mkhashwa and indicated that some of the songs were motivated by challenges that he faced in life and God demonstrated His powers as he explained,

“God is real, I was going through a very difficult situation where I thought I would die, but God saved my life and I wrote a song called ‘Wala Unkulunkulu’ because the Lord didn’t give my life to my enemies.”

Since he’s been in the industry he has shared the stage with renowned gospel artists such as Donny Ngwenyama, Mxolisi Mbethe, Thabile Myeni, Shongwe and Khuphuka, to name but a few. He has performed in Swaziland and Mozambique.

The singer concluded by advising young, upcoming artists that they should not get into the industry for the money.

“This is not an easy industry, if you are after money you are in the wrong place because we are here to serve God’s purpose which is to preach His word, not make money.

“If you are going to focus on material things such as money and getting awards you are not going to survive as I believe that our reward is in Heaven,” he concluded.
