Youth Camp sharpen young people

The 2015 Youth Camp is illustrated with indoors and outdoors activities and participants will be involved in various tasks and activities aimed at making them better persons.

MBOMBELA-Spring school holidays for more than 200 youths in Mpumalanga will be an opportunity to learn on leadership, nation-building and social cohesion during this year’s 2015 Youth Camp at Forever Resort Blyde Canyon from October 4 to the 9th .

“An active and winning nation is one of the core objectives of this country’s National Development Plan”, said the Minister of Sports, Mr Fikile Mbalula, in welcoming the 2015 Youth Camp.

The camp was introduced in 2012 as a way of shaping the future of young people in the country. Participant should be between the ages of 14 to 25 from all ethnic groups and backgrounds. This year motto is Learn, Lead and Serve. The camp will be illustrated with indoors and outdoors activities. Participants will be involved in various tasks and activities aimed at making them better persons, who can contribute positively to growth of the country.

Spokesperson for the Department of Sports and Culture in the province, Sibongile Nkosi said participant will also be involved in an outreach programme to local communities, where they will exercise the way of giving back to the community by cleaning and helping the community.
