Mpumalanga’s premier is well and alive

The premier is well and recovering very well. He is rested by the doctors. The circulating story that the premier is no more is very naughty and disturbing.

MBOMBELA – The Mec for community safety, security and liaison, Mr Vusi Shongwe has warned members of the public to stop spreading false rumours about the condition of the premier Mr David Mabuza. Shongwe is currently standing in for Mabuza who was booked off sick by his doctors three weeks ago.

“The premier is well and recovering very well. He is rested by the doctors. The circulating story that the premier is no more is very naughty and disturbing. It is very inhumane that when a person is sick to have some people spreading lies saying that person is dead, mostly because we are all images of God and it’s only Him who knows how and when one will pass on,” said Shongwe while addressing members of the media on the stats of crime in the province.

Shongwe stressed that spreading such rumours were very barbaric and constitutes criminal behaviour. “Even if you hate someone it’s inhumane to send messages that he or she is dead,” he went on.

Adding that the rumours were very disturbing and hurting to the premier’s family, friends and those who know him. “Kuyabalimaza abomndeni, nabasondelene naye Kuyabalimaza futhi nabamaziyo in the entire country,” he concluded.
