BARBERTON – The deputy minister for the Department of Correctional Services Mr Thabang Makwetla is expected to hand over an agricultural land to the youth of Umjindi Local Municipality .
It’s reported that the portion of land is part of the Barberton Correctional farm and is currently unutilised by the department.
This publication learnt that handing over the land is part and parcel of eradicating poverty in the country and transfer of skills to young people.
The land is expected to be used for farming and ploughing of vegetables for both consumption and sell. Mpumalanga News learnt that the land will be handed to the municipality and managed by Seriti Institute .
