Citizen abhorred by second foetus discovery in street

Another foetus was found in a dustbin at Anderson Street, and a case of concealment of birth has been opened by Police and investigations are continuing.

MBOMBELA-Two months ago a foetus allegedly aborted by a sex worker
was found by municipal waste collectors in Anderson Street. Another newborn was discovered in the same street last Wednesday.

Anderson street is infamous for its criminal activities ranging from drug-related businesses to girls who trade as sex workers.

A concerned member of the community, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said such acts were signs of moral decay and law enforcers had to punish such criminals accordingly.

“It’s a sign that our country has lost ubuntu and pride. I personally suspect the sex workers know about this incident but they won’t come out.

“This means our government should take charge and help to resolve this matter as it is escalating in the whole country,” she said.

Nelspruit police spokesperson Capt Dawie Pretorius confirmed that they found a foetus in a dustbin in the street, and a case of
concealment of birth has been opened and investigations are continuing.
