Residents and police unit to pay tribute

They will make their next court appearance on October 1.

ZWELISHA – Community members and police from Pienaar paid a final tribute to a 29-year-old woman who was raped and brutally killed, by cleaning the area where the horrific incident occurred.


The residents and police put everything aside and dedicated their time to cutting grass and trees at the place where the victim, Ms Nomthandazo Jele died.


The spokesperson of the police, Lt Jbu Ndubane, said that they decided to unite with the community and show that they support the victim’s family.


Two suspects were arrested last week in Pienaar and Barberton and charged with rape and murder. 


Mr Nkosingiphile Manda (21) and Mr Thokazani Nkosi appeared briefly at KaNyamazane Magistrate’s Court and were denied bail.

They will make their next court appearance on October 1.
