Learners visit prison

" So you have to use this opportunity and ensure that you get education first "

BARBERTON – Learners from Bhikiswako Secondary School received first hand experience on prison life following their visit to the Barberton based Juvenile Centre.

This school has in the past dominated media headlines for ill-discipline.

Their visit was spearheaded by the MEC for Safety and Security, Mr Vusi Shongwe who also announced just after the tour that he was going to adopt the school with an aim of turning it around.

Shongwe encouraged the learners to focus on their studies so that they can build a better life for themselves.

“Life is though out there. So you have to use this opportunity and ensure that you get education first, so that you may be better people tomorrow and not made the same mistakes that our brothers committed, which landed them in jail,” alluded Shongwe.
