Second speaker’s words angers women

Every year, women eagerly wait for August, a month dedicated to celebrating their strength and courage and to uplifting those who have been beaten by life.

LEHAWU- Women from different walks of life gather at various events throughout the month where they relish being motivated by men and women who, have been at their lowest point in life but managed to shake off the shackles.

On Women’s Day at Casambo Exclusive Guest Lodge, Ruby Rare together with Casambo, celebrated women who came in numbers anticipating rejuvenation, and many confirmed that they were stirred up to stand up and improve themselves after the first speaker, Ms Norah Fakude-Nkuna encouraged them take interest in political matters.

Speaking under the theme, “Identifying, developing and maintaining your brand as a woman,” Fakude-Nkuna urged the ladies to wise up and know what decisions are made in the political arena since they affected their lives.

“Indeed South Africa is ready for a female leader and congratulations are in order for the newly elected ANC Women’s League president, Ms Bathabile Dlamini,” she said.

When the second speaker took to the stage, the occasion took a different rhythm and several guests told us that they were not impressed by her address.

Under the focus, unleashing the royalty within you, Make Pule actually unleashed anger and the guests said they felt as if she was condemning them.

“If you are a woman and you have four children with different men, your womb has overworked. You see me, I decided that I will never be a stupid woman like my mother and have many children. For that reason I only have two kids,” this was one of her statements that angered some women who spoke to Mpumalanga News.

“From the beginning of her speech she was screaming at us and not speaking with caution as a motivational speaker should. There are plenty of women who have made mistakes in their past and need motivation to learn from their slip-ups and move on, not be condemned.

What Pule did was shout while sentencing us for our past and it was not right,” said one of the attendees.

The whole month, it will be event after event and women are still expecting emotional renewal and a fresh breath of air. So, if you have been lined up to address these delicate creatures, we advise you to take extra care and talk to them in a way that will build them, not break their souls.
