Movement ready to instil good morals

" There are men out there who are turning their children into sex slaves ".

MBOMBELA – This month is Moral Regeneration Month and citizens are urged to live a life that is pleasing to God.

According to provincial chairperson of the Moral Regeneration Movement,
Rev Mica Nthali, the movement still has a long way to go when it comes to preaching and instilling morals.

“This is a very important month where we honour the late global icon, Tata Nelson Mandela, at the same time, we are reviving the spirit of ubuntu in terms of building morals.

When we face reality, people no longer have morals. We want to remind people to reposition themselves with God because some of them have become slaves of the immoral because they are far away from their Creator.
Nthali said the first step that would yield positive results to bring back morals was to focus on families because that was where most of the problems started and people ended up doing bad things.

“In most cases we find out that our children are failing to behave in a good manner because the head of the family, the father, is also failing dismally to play his role and the children get angry and resort to bad deeds. Even criminals have families,” he said.

Mpumalanga News also learnt that people were no longer feeling free like back in the days because of all the bad incidents like brutal murders, rape and the escalating crime, which were an indication that morals no longer existed.

“Man needs to remember his role. We need to engage people on issues that are affecting our societies because some of those things are caused by men. They are supposed to protect their families, but some are failing. There are men out there who are turning their children into sex slaves. It’s totally wrong. As men, we need to unite and speak with one voice,” he said.
